Job Responsibilities:
- Manage the library collection, including acquisition, cataloging, and organization of materials.
- Assist patrons in locating resources, conducting research, and utilizing library services.
- Develop and implement library programs and activities to promote literacy and a love of reading.
- Provide instruction on information literacy skills, including research techniques and database use.
- Maintain library facilities, ensuring a clean, organized, and welcoming environment.
- Collaborate with teachers to support curriculum integration and enhance student learning.
- Stay updated on trends in library science, technology, and education to enhance library services.
- Manage library budgets, including purchasing materials and managing subscriptions.
- Supervise library assistants and volunteers to ensure the smooth operation of library services.
- Promote library resources and services through marketing and outreach efforts.
Job Requirements:
- Master's degree in Library Science or Information Science.
- Previous experience working in a library setting, preferably in an educational institution.
- Knowledge of library systems and cataloging standards.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in information retrieval and research methods.
- Familiarity with educational technology and digital resources.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
